The <Alpha> Element
Description
Alpha measures the difference between a fund portfolio's or security's
actual performance and the performance anticipated in light of a benchmark
risk and the behavior of the market. In the case of investment funds,
alpha can be used to directly measure the value added or subtracted by
a fund's manager.
